Committee approves multiple beer-garden event applications and a new alcohol license agent

The Committee of the Whole recommended council approval of three special-event alcohol applications by Kowalski Brewing (Component Brewing) for Malone Park, the New Berlin Historical Society site and the Public Library, and recommended approval of LaMarvin J. Jackson as the alcohol license agent for Marcus Ridge Cinema.
The Committee of the Whole voted April 22 to recommend to the Common Council approval of three separate special-event alcohol permit applications filed as AB-105 by Kowalski Brewing, doing business as Component Brewing.
The first AB-105 covers Malone Park Beer Gardens on May 24, June 14, July 12, Sept. 6 and Oct. 11, 2025, from noon to 6 p.m.; the minutes show brief council discussion about Malone Park construction potentially affecting events after July 4 and a note to "check with Katie." The application will be forwarded to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, Division of Alcohol Beverages, for final approval and issuance.
The second AB-105 covers Historical Park Beer Gardens at the New Berlin Historical Society on June 15, July 13, Sept. 7 and Oct. 12, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Council members noted a recent change requiring final issuance by the Wisconsin DOR Division of Alcohol Beverages following state action related to wedding barn licensing.
The third AB-105 concerns a Public Library beer garden on Aug. 16, 2025, from noon to 6 p.m.; the committee recommended forwarding that application to the Wisconsin DOR as well.
In a separate motion, the committee recommended approval of LaMarvin J. Jackson as the new alcohol license agent for Family Entertainment LLC, doing business as Marcus Ridge Cinema, for the current license year that expires June 30, 2025. The motion passed on a voice vote.
All three AB-105 motions and the license-agent recommendation passed by voice vote without recorded roll-call tallies in the meeting minutes; each application will be sent to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, Division of Alcohol Beverages, for final review and issuance.
