Luke, planning staff for the City of Oakdale, said the work plan is intended to guide Planning Commission responsibilities during the year and recalled that state statute defines many commission duties. He told commissioners that the work plan calls for a small-area plan for the Twelfth and Geneva area and early preparation work for the city's next comprehensive plan update, and that staff will engage the commission for feedback as those projects proceed.
Luke said the draft work plan and staff recommendations will go to the City Council for action at an upcoming meeting. Commissioners had no substantive changes to request during the discussion; one commissioner suggested the Commission wanted to see clearer legends and visuals in future packet materials to make zoning and code items easier to review.
No motions were made or votes taken on the work plan during the meeting. Staff indicated the City Council will take action on the work plan at a future meeting and that Planning Commission involvement will continue as the small-area plan and comprehensive-plan preparation progress.
