Town Manager Mark Nelson and Tom Roy outlined the draft MOU and said the agreement is intended as a pilot. Rick Pisano, the town’s IT director, worked with the fire district on the proposal; Roy told the board the district will purchase its own hardware and software but use town IT staff for troubleshooting and technical support. The town will maintain a time log of support delivered to allow an accurate fee calculation in subsequent years.
The draft sets a baseline fee of $20,000 for the first year (paid quarterly). Board members asked for wording changes to paragraph 7 to separate amendment and termination clauses (so routine amendments could be made without a 180-day termination notice). The town attorney and the fire district reviewed the draft, Roy said. After clarifying language and numbering edits, the board voted to approve the amended MOU and authorized the town manager to execute the agreement.
No formal vote tally names were recorded in the audio but the chair announced the motion and the board voice-voted in the affirmative.
