Cranford swears in four police officers advanced to captain, lieutenant and sergeant ranks

The Township Committee of the Township of Cranford on Feb. 18 formally recognized and advanced four Cranford Police Department officers, swearing them into new ranks and reading resolutions marking their promotions.

The promotions were presented with biographical summaries during the meeting. A short statement introducing the recognitions said, “On that agenda, you will see the advancements of 4 of our Cranford Police Officers to new ranks.” Chief Nazaro (Cranford Police Department) thanked the governing body for its support and, addressing the public and the committee, said, “I’m extremely grateful to serve in a township where the support of its police department is unwavering and the appropriate manpower budgeting and tools are provided so we could provide an optimal level of professional policing in our community.”
Resolution and vote details recorded in the meeting transcript: Resolution 2025-592 (advancing Eugene J. Perrotta to captain) was read as previously adopted. Resolution 2025-128 (advancing Russell J. Ludicher to lieutenant) passed by roll call with one abstention: Commissioner Black — Yes; Commissioner Andrews — Abstain; Commissioner Miller Prunty — Yes; Deputy Mayor Gallo — Yes; Mayor Curran — Yes. Resolutions 2025-129 (Daniel J. Donnerstagg to sergeant) and 2025-130 (John J. Radigan to sergeant) were approved by unanimous roll call votes as recorded.
