Mayor Terrence Curran said the township is pushing for completion of the 750 Walnut redevelopment and warned that prolonged disputes over certificates of occupancy and completion will lengthen construction disruption and delay tax reassessment benefits.
"Delaying it, delaying the completion or fighting over COs and TCOs is only going to drag out the project and continue to add to the disruptive nature of it," Curran said. He said a full reassessment when the project finishes would add about $4,000,000 to the tax base, apportioned among county, school and township taxpayers; he noted that the pilot agreement remains a separate element.
