Public Works staff reported the city’s residential streetlight conversion to LED is complete and that staff will submit a reimbursement request to the grant program (approximately $51,000). Project manager Brad Bruin said the fixtures were specified with shields and color/levels tuned to reduce glare and meet dark-sky guidance and that staff has received no positive or negative calls since the conversion.
Staff said they will prepare a Phase 2 proposal to convert additional industrial or commercial streetlights and will present a capital request for that work in the fall budget cycle. Committee members praised staff for the implementation approach, including pilot conversions done earlier when replacing problem fixtures.
Ending: Staff will send the reimbursement request and return with a Phase 2 scope and preliminary budget later this year.
