High‑school science: High‑school science teachers recommended readoption rather than replacement, citing satisfaction with current materials and the need to align instruction across teachers. The board readopted existing high‑school core texts for biology, chemistry and college‑level physics for the current adoption cycle; advanced placement materials remain available under College Board guidance and will continue to be provided for AP coursework.
Health curriculum: The board adopted the Great Body Shop for K–6 and a same‑publisher solution at 7–8 and 9–12 after middle‑school teachers piloted materials and students gave feedback. The board and staff noted that sixth grade will retain Great Body Shop to ease the K–6 to middle‑school transition; seventh and eighth grades will use a publisher offering deeper middle‑school health content.
Votes and next steps: Each adoption passed by roll call: readoption of elementary science (moved by Chris, seconded by Therese); readoption of high‑school science (moved by Therese, seconded by Bernie); and adoption of the K–12 health curricula (moved by Bernie, seconded by Sammy). Staff said they would support teacher collaboration over the summer and organize implementation training for 2025–26.
