Commission approves Kennedy Marina concession agreement with Kemco Inc., pending National Park Service signoff

Hancock County commissioners voted May 8 to accept and approve the Kennedy Marina concessionaire agreement with Kemco Incorporated, contingent on National Park Service approval.
Commission President clarified the contract was the agreement previously approved at an April meeting and includes exemptions allowing SEMCO to exit the prior agreement. "That is the contract that was approved at the April 1 meeting," the president said when reading the item into the record.
Commissioners expressed support for the new concessionaire pending Department of the Interior approval. "We're really looking forward to Simcoe [sic], what they can do down there, and I think people in the community are gonna be very excited about some things they're offering," one commissioner said, with another noting approval depended upon the National Park Service and Department of the Interior policies.
The commission voted by voice to approve the agreement; the chair said the agreement would be signed the following day pending federal approval.
