District recommends CHSC computer repair contract; Chromebook prep and repair fees outlined

Board member Bob Hickey raised questions about historical repair costs when elementary students take devices home. District staff said repair costs have risen modestly over the last three years as machines age and that the current‑year budgeted amount for repairs and servicing is $225,000. Staff also said the district plans to rely more on warranties for newer equipment and to use internal deployment processes where feasible; those steps should reduce external repair volume and expense in future years.
Rapp said the vendor has provided these services previously and that CHSC would continue to assist with large deployments if needed, though the technology department expects to do most summer deployment work in‑house this year.
