Nancy Porter, the district’s legal counsel, requested a $25-per-hour increase to her hourly rate, citing that her private-client fee is significantly higher than what she charges the board.
“I have been representing the board for almost 4 years now at a rate of $250 an hour... I’m asking for a $25 increase to $275 per hour,” Porter told the board.
She said the increase would have a modest impact on district spending; based on her billings to the board last year, Porter estimated the change would increase annual billing by roughly $327.50. Following a brief question period, the board moved, seconded and approved the increase by voice vote.
Porter thanked the board after voting concluded.
