The board directed staff to send a certified notice requiring overdue-account tenants to update contracts and make outstanding payments. The motion included a 10-day certified-mail deadline to either sign an updated contract and pay outstanding charges or face shutdown of unauthorized equipment.
Marissa reported that one tenant (Albino) has increased payments to $500 monthly but remains technically overdue, Elko Broadcasting (Tyler) has been making payments and requested a statement, and RISE Broadband made a partial payment but has not returned a signed contract and has installed additional unauthorized dishes.
A board member urged follow-through: “If you don’t pay your bills, you don’t get the service,” the member said in debate on enforcement.
The board adopted a motion to send certified letters requiring the tenant to bring accounts and contracts current and to remove unauthorized equipment if not resolved within 10 days. Marissa will prepare the letter; Chair Dale asked district staff and board reviewers to sign off before mailing.
District staff will prioritize a measured approach—first a certified notice and, if noncompliance continues, deactivation of the unauthorized hardware or termination of service as allowed under existing contracts and notices given previously.
