The Tri‑Creek School Corporation Board of School Trustees approved employment contracts for two school principals during its meeting.
The board voted to approve Josh Gehringer as principal of Lowell High School. Gehringer, who addressed the board after the motion and vote, said he has worked in education for about 17 years and previously taught math and served as a principal and coach. “Lowell High School has been on my radar for quite some time,” he told the board.
The board also approved Patty Sparks as Oak Hill Elementary School principal. Sparks told the board she has 17 years in education, including principal and director positions, and said she felt welcomed by the district.
Both contract approvals were made by voice vote after motions and seconds; the meeting transcript records the board saying “Aye” and that the motions passed. The transcript does not show a recorded roll call of individual votes.
The board’s actions were part of the meeting’s personnel consent items. Each newly approved hire briefly addressed the board and thanked members and the community.
