The motion, made by Squire Lawrence and seconded by Squire Lasley, passed by roll call with all magistrates present voting yes. Judge and staff said the grant would be used to secure a safe room at the Hadley Community Center to provide shelter during severe-weather events and that local stakeholders hope to be successful in obtaining funding.
Court members thanked Emergency Management and other staff for their work preparing the application. The approval authorizes the county to apply; it does not guarantee grant award. If awarded, the county will proceed with project planning and any required local match or contract execution at a future meeting.
