CJCC reports steady referrals, courses starting in jail and summer graduation likely

A CJCC representative reported updated participant counts for several diversion and treatment programs and said classes are starting inside the county jail as referral numbers permit.
CJCC staff reported the substance diversion program currently has two active participants and one new referral. The intoxicated survivor intervention program has six participants and three new referrals. The first‑time offender program saw five people complete the class last month and has five new referrals. For the treatment court, CJCC said there are six participants with two referrals in process and one individual who was ineligible. The MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) class has started in the jail and will run in the community once enough referrals are in place.
When asked about timing for a graduation event, staff said August or September is the likely timeframe for the next graduation.
