Pennsauken Committee honors two Pennsauken High School athletes during March meeting

The committee presented proclamations to Ciani Wynn, a junior and track athlete, and Jada Pichardo, a senior wrestler, praising their competitive records and academic performance. "I can't tell you what a joy it is to be here and have the opportunity to recognize these outstanding young women," Mayor Nicole Roberts said during the ceremony.
The mayor's proclamation for Ciani Wynn cited multiple state records and meet-of-champions titles in indoor sprint and other events and noted a reported grade-point average of 3.83 and membership in the National Honor Society. Deputy Mayor Jessica Rafay read a proclamation for Jada Pichardo highlighting an undefeated senior season (a 32-0 record reported in the meeting), a national ranking at 126 pounds, two regional championships and a state championship in 2025. Pichardo also told the committee she has competed internationally for the Dominican Republic.
Speaking to the committee, Jada Pichardo said: "I believe I won my state title on Women's History Day," and described feeling grateful to serve as a role model for younger athletes. The students and their families posed for photos following the presentations.
Committee members praised both students' accomplishments and thanked coaches, parents and school staff who supported them. Deputy Mayor Rafay and other committee members encouraged community recognition for student-athletes during Women's History Month.
The presentations were ceremonial; no formal committee votes or policy changes were associated with the proclamations.
