Resident reports loud road rally in Penns Neck; mayor says nonresidents cited and police dispersed group

David Perez of 207 Washington Road (Penns Neck) told the council during the March 24 public-comment period that a loud group of vehicles staged a road rally through Penns Neck on Saturday night and produced sustained engine noise for about half an hour.
"There are a lot of children and a lot of pets that were terrified too," Perez said. He told the council that police responded, dispersed the group and issued a number of citations, and that some community members recorded the event on Facebook.
The mayor told the council he had spoken with the police chief and that the participants were not West Windsor residents. "The police did break it up. They did issue few tickets to the people and drove it out," the mayor said. He added that the current regulations were sufficient to respond to the incident and that the township would continue to monitor the situation.
