Andrea Mandel elected West Windsor council president; Linda Jeevers chosen vice president

Andrea Mandel was elected council president at the West Windsor Township Council reorganization meeting on Jan. 15, 2025, and sworn into office.
The council nominated Mandel and held a roll-call vote after closing nominations. The roll call recorded votes of yes from councilmembers Garwas, Jeevers, Mandel and Whitfield; Councilmember Weiss recorded an abstention. The motion to elect Mandel carried and Mandel was sworn in and recited the oath of office.
Shortly afterward the council elected Linda Jeevers to serve as vice president. Nominations were made and the council held a roll-call vote confirming Jeevers. The vice-presidential oath followed.
The council used the reorganization meeting for brief opening remarks. Councilmembers and Mayor Hemant Marathi congratulated the newly elected officers and emphasized several priorities for 2025, including meeting state deadlines on the fourth round of affordable housing, pedestrian and bicycle safety projects, and upcoming municipal and capital budget work. Council members also thanked township staff, volunteers and first responders.
The council administered additional oaths to members appointed or reappointed to boards and committees during the reorganization portion of the meeting and took a group photo before moving to the business agenda.
