Committee members reported progress on a Public Arts Creative Placemaking Database ad hoc. The ad hoc has compiled a draft list of known public-art installations and asked committee members to add items and detail by the end of the week.
The plan is to hand the gathered dataset to county mapping staff (Ben and county GIS) so the county map can host detailed entries (photos, links) and to give a copy to the tourism office for a printed map. The ad hoc also plans to maintain a Google Maps layer synchronized with the county map so tourists who search on Google Maps will find the art locations.
The shared document includes existing work (murals downtown, sculptures) and a second tab for potential public-art sites the committee may want to pursue; the potential-sites tab is intended for internal committee use, not public release. Committee members were asked to add missing installations and, where possible, grid references and owner/contact details so staff can follow up.
