Supervisors move Southeast County meeting date and preserve April 29 meeting after calendar change was questioned

The board amended its 2025 meeting calendar to move the Southeast County meeting from April 8 to May 6 but reversed a staff recommendation to cancel the April 29 Independence meeting after recognizing the board needed that date for a pumping-plan approval item.
A consent-agenda calendar adjustment (item 10) generated discussion on March 25 when staff proposed changing the meeting calendar and canceling the April 29 meeting in Independence.
County administration explained the primary change was moving the Southeast County meeting in Tecopa (listed in the packet as Tacoma, corrected in discussion) from April 8 to May 6, and that staff had recommended canceling April 29. Supervisors noted the April 29 date is important because the board must consider approval of a pumping plan between LED and BP on that date. At staff request the board struck the recommended cancellation for April 29 and instead kept the meeting. The revised calendar—moving the Southeast meeting to May 6 and retaining the April 29 meeting—was approved by the board.
The board previously approved the remainder of the consent agenda (items 9 and 11–21) in a single motion; item 10 was pulled for discussion and then approved with the amended calendar.
