The Historic District Commission in Skagway approved a package of sign, paint and mural permits for downtown properties during its March 24 meeting. The commission approved nine permit applications covering façade, marquee and projecting signs, building repainting and one mural; most votes were unanimous or near-unanimous.
The commission approved sign permit application 2025070 for Shirt Off My Back (façade-mounted sign), building paint permits 2025002 (Wild Yukon Firs), 2025008 (Patricia McGee), and 2025015 (Municipality of Skagway, AB Hall), sign permits 2025006 and 2025007 (Aurora Alaska Jewelry Art marquee signs), marquee/projecting sign permits 2025016 and 2025017 (Credit Union 1) and mural permit 2025014 (Stephanie Ryan). Most were approved 4-0; the two Credit Union 1 sign applications passed 3-0 after commissioners requested staff address font and logo styling.
