District 1 supervisor urges home hardening, cites Inyo County wildfire plan

Trina Bridal, District 1 supervisor for Inyo County, opened the Jan. 20 community meeting by noting local concerns about wildfire given recent events in Southern California and stressing that wildfire preparedness is an ongoing priority for the county.
"Wildfire is very on everybody's minds right now with what's happening in Southern California," Bridal said, and she urged homeowners to pursue home hardening and to help neighbors clear defensible space. She noted that Kristen Feiler in the county's emergency services office, with Mikaela Torres, works on many emergency‑response programs and that Kristen's particular expertise is wildfire.
Bridal said the county has completed a Community Wildfire Prevention Plan and that it is available on the county website. She encouraged residents who want specifics on mitigation or home hardening to contact the county emergency services staff or her office for guidance.
