The board agreed to keep the item on future agendas and to escalate outreach if they do not hear back from McKnight, potentially contacting DOT in Juneau.
Board members suggested inviting McKnight to a meeting to share his perspective and discuss short- and long-term solutions, including whether chip-seal sections require different maintenance approaches. One member said they would attempt to call DOT in the morning to catch crews starting work.
No formal action was taken at the advisory-board meeting beyond agreeing to pursue further contact with DOT and to report back at the next meeting.
