Logistics discussed included safety vests, trash grabbers and disposal of collected bags; members said the Vets group typically arranges state pickup of blue trash bags. The commission agreed that a joint event with the Vets would be fastest this year and that it would request a date from the Vets Hall coordinator to publicize on the commission’s Facebook page and on the Nextdoor app.
Members assigned outreach and supply tasks and agreed to coordinate with town staff and the Vet Hall volunteer lead to confirm a date for a spring cleanup. The commission also discussed pursuing the Department of Transportation sponsor-highway option for a more formal, recurring program in a future year.
