The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on April 18 read a proclamation honoring the Cle Elum–Roslyn High School cheer team as the 2025 WIAA winter academic state champions in cheerleading and declared April 18, 2025, Cle Elum–Roslyn High School Cheer Team Day.
The proclamation, read into the record by a county official, said the team maintained a collective grade-point average of 3.77 across 15 members and listed team members by name. It thanked the coaching staff, parents, teachers and school administrators for their support and described the students as leaders and ambassadors for their school and community.
Coach Kelsey Snyder spoke briefly at the podium, noting the team’s workload during the season and calling out that three team members were valedictorians and one salutatorian in their graduating class. Team member Kayla (last name not specified in the record) said the team’s academic success stems from selecting students who are already driven and holding a high standard for performance.
Commissioner Waksworth and another county official presented the proclamation and invited the team for a group photo with the commissioners. The board congratulated the students and thanked them for attending the meeting.
The proclamation text read aloud by county staff lists all team members and acknowledges their academic and athletic achievement. No formal vote beyond the presentation was recorded in the meeting minutes for this item.
