Board approves committee appointments, special-district appointments and two school bond issuances

The Butte County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 11 approved a package of routine appointments, special-district appointments and authorizations for school bond issuances during its consent and board-report portion of the meeting.
Appointments approved by unanimous vote included: reappointment of Thad Walker (economic tourism member) and Nick Repinich (recreation motorized member) to the Forest Advisory Committee with terms expiring Dec. 31, 2028; appointment of Robert Crow to the Housing Authority of the County of Butte to represent District 4 (term ending Jan. 1, 2029); appointment of Anjeanette Shadley to represent Butte County on the Northern Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Technical Advisory Committee (two-year term ending Feb. 10, 2027); and four appointments to the Richardson Springs Community Services District (Bridal Salyards and Steven Beiter to four-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2028; Michael Baker and Reha Andrian Joffe to two-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2026).
The board also approved requests from two school districts to issue series A general obligation bonds directly (without the county acting as conduit issuer): Durham Unified School District to issue $9,000,000 in Series A bonds (voter-approved authorization of $24,500,000) and Biggs Unified School District to issue $6,000,000 in Series A bonds (voter-approved authorization of $16,500,000). Treasurer-Tax Collector Troy Kidd presented both items and the board approved resolutions authorizing the districts to issue the bonds directly and authorized the chair to sign.
Other routine items handled on consent or in short motion included the county's public facilities financing corporation consent item and the Thompson Flat Cemetery District consent item; the board adjourned those subsidiary bodies after taking the consent votes.
All listed consent and appointment items passed unanimously; no amendments or substantive debate was recorded on these items.
