The Muskegon County Ways and Means Committee on April 15 authorized the release of a solicitation for a secondary and temporary staffing provider. The move is intended to create a second vendor option and maintain continuity when alternating-year contracts expire.
Wade, the county’s human resources director, told the committee that the county currently uses two temporary-staffing companies on alternating-year contracts and that the existing provider’s contract expired June 1. “We have 2 companies currently that provide temporary staffing for the county. They are an alternating year contract,” Wade said. He said the solicitation is to evaluate options for a second provider in addition to the county’s continuing contract with Good Times (named in the discussion).
The committee voted by voice to release the solicitation. The motion was moved by Commissioner McGuigan and supported by Commissioner Cyr.
