Council approves amended lease with Blackstone Valley River Theater, reduces insurer requirement

The mayor also said the lease term in the amendment runs April 1 to March 30, 2030, with two additional five-year renewal options.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about prior insurance levels and lease terms. Mayor Mutter said the change would significantly reduce the theater's expenses and that the trust would backstop larger liabilities. Councilor Bolio moved to approve the amended lease; Councilor Shaw seconded. The council voted 7-0 to approve Resolution 25-21.
The resolution passed by unanimous vote; the council did not attach additional lease conditions in the meeting discussion. The amended lease and the revised insurance requirement will be executed by the mayor as authorized by the resolution.
