She described the figures as preliminary and said the school committee has held two budget meetings with a third expected the following Monday.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about whether the 3.39% figure included bond operating costs; Vogel said she did not believe the bond payment was included but said she could be wrong and that the committee would provide further clarification in subsequent meetings.
The council did not take action on the school budget at the meeting; the school committee will continue budget deliberations and return with additional details at the next scheduled meeting.
