Concord organizers lay out road closures, parking ban and credential plan for April 19 Concord 250 events

"Our rollout for Friday night is gonna start at 06:00 with the road closures," Captain Brian Goldman, Concord Police Department, said at the meeting. He added: "We are also instituting on Friday night at 10PM, town wide parking ban."
The closures affect streets around Monument Square, the parade route and Emerson Field; organizers described a two-tier system of "soft" closures on outer streets that allow limited movement and "hard" closures along the parade route where only public-safety vehicles will be allowed. Captain Goldman said crews expect the road-closure window to end around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The nut graf: downtown merchants were the meeting's primary audience because officials said the closures and equipment staging (portable restrooms, dumpsters and vendor lots) will reduce available parking beginning midweek. Organizers asked businesses to submit an online form listing staff, delivery needs and opening hours so officials can assign employee parking and issue vehicle placards.
Donna, the town's public information officer, described how credentialing will work: residents in the closure zone "are going to get 2 car tag placards for your car," and businesses that completed the survey listing which staff need access on Saturday will receive placards for those vehicles. Officials said placards will let credentialed vehicles pass checkpoints during the restricted-access window but warned that access will be limited during the parade itself.
Officials said two municipal lots—Keis (Kies) Road and Walden Street—will be reserved for vendor staging and will be closed to general parking beginning late Wednesday night to allow setup; organizers also said they will stage infrastructure (porta-potties, dumpsters) on Thursday. Captain Goldman urged businesses that expect deliveries after the Friday 6:00 p.m. rollout to coordinate directly with Officer Steve Hawkins to avoid missed shipments.
Organizers asked business owners to confirm contact information so staff can send assignment notices. "If we don't have your email, you didn't get that form," Donna said; meeting materials and a survey link will be re-sent to attendees and posted on the public site.
The meeting closed with officials urging two-way communication so staff can adapt lot assignments and shuttle plans as the event approaches.
