Green home tours set for March 15; committee seeks volunteers and outreach help

The Concord Climate Action Committee announced its annual Green Home Tours for Saturday, March 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., and asked committee members to help with outreach, household hosting and onsite volunteer staffing.
Organizers said four homes will be open, each with coaches to explain energy-efficiency measures and home electrification features such as heat pumps and induction stoves. "All you gotta do is file a green card, and then, that and and, actually, you file a green card and you tell us that you filed a green card, and then, we would find out about it," an organizer said, describing the sign-up process for hosts and volunteers. The committee asked members to test the online Google Form sign-up and to email organizers if the form did not work.
Organizers requested that at least one Climate Action Committee member be present at each home during the event to help with registration, sign-in and basic facilitation. They discussed limiting attendance to about 20 people at any one time at a house to keep tours manageable and suggested using an iPad or laptop at each house to record sign-ups electronically and avoid illegible handwritten names.
Promotion will run through CMLP email, the Cooler Concord website, library and partner newsletters; committee members also offered to post the event on social channels and in the Concord Bridge. Organizers requested copy for local publicity at least one week before the event so ads and a short article can run in community channels.
Committee members discussed logistics including coach assignments, sign placement, snack coordination and the option of a small post-tour gathering at a host home. The event will include CMLP technical support materials and is open to residents who register via the form or QR code provided in event publicity.
