The Princeton Mayor and Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution designating Bernard Hosdavik as the municipality’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator.
The appointment was introduced as part of the consent agenda and carried in a roll call vote. Councilmembers said the coordinator role will manage ADA grievance procedures and related compliance tasks.
During the public comment period before the vote, disability‑rights advocate Rhonda Abbott addressed the council and asked whether the municipality had completed a public access self‑evaluation and whether the designated coordinator would be prepared to receive ADA complaints in person and to coordinate interpreter services. Abbott also asked if the administrator would receive formal training and whether the municipality would publish procedures for in‑person appointments.
A staff member said the council would follow up and that the administrator (who was absent because of illness) would respond once available. Councilmembers invited Abbott to leave contact information and said staff would reply with details about training and complaint procedures.
Next steps: Councilmembers instructed staff to ensure training for the coordinator and to follow up with the public commenter on the municipality’s complaint intake procedures and scheduling for in‑person appointments.
