The Farmington City Council on April 5 nominated Councilor Giacchino to serve as the city’s voting delegate at the upcoming New Mexico Municipal League regional meeting, where the region will elect its board representative.
City Manager noted the region will elect its next board member at the legislative-session update meeting next week and that the community must appoint a delegate to vote at that regional meeting. Councilor Giacchino told the council she intends to run for reelection to that position and is willing to serve as the city’s delegate.
Councilor Rogers moved to nominate Councilor Giacchino; the motion was seconded by Councilor Bienko Kelly and carried on a unanimous voice vote.
Councilor Giacchino said she will preside over the meeting and has no objection to remaining in the role. The nomination will allow Farmington to have a designated voting representative at the regional New Mexico Municipal League meeting.
