Resolution No. 2025-79 authorizing the purchase of one Freightliner and two 16-yard dump trucks under a Florida Sheriffs Association contract, and declaring vehicle number 368 as surplus, passed on the record. Commissioner Riley questioned the estimated auction return for the surplus vehicle and suggested the city could get a higher sale price.
The commission approved a disposition item and intent to bid for CDBG Military Boulevard sidewalk improvements in the Forest Hills subdivision (item 6 j). Commissioner Riley (whose zone includes the area) said sidewalks there are narrow and poorly maintained and said he was "happy to see us moving forward."
Public hearings and ordinance votes recorded as passed at the meeting included: - Ordinance No. 2025-14 — removal of 63 Seville Street ("the Barbie House") from the Ormond Beach historic landmarks list; second reading approved. - Ordinance No. 2025-15 — annexation of one parcel at 1005 North U.S. Highway 1 and associated zoning and boundary adjustments; second reading approved. - Ordinance No. 2025-17 — comprehensive-plan update (first reading and transmittal; see separate article).
