Board of Adjustments members elect chair; Matt Metz named vice chair

At the April 14, 2025 Jacksonville Beach Board of Adjustments meeting, members selected new leadership: a board member nominated themselves as chair and Matt Metz was elected vice chair by voice vote.

The vote came during the board’s annual business meeting and was taken by voice after a nomination and a second. A roll call was not requested for the election; members answered “Aye” to the voice vote that followed, and the nominations were approved.

Board members began the meeting with roll call and moved quickly into nominations for chair and vice chair. The board discussed the bylaws’ two‑year term for the chair and noted that running the meeting is the primary duty of the chair once elected. The nominee for chair consented to serve; Matt Metz accepted the nomination for vice chair. The chair nomination was then put to the group and carried on a voice vote.

Following the vote the chair congratulated the newly elected vice chair and proceeded to the next agenda item.
