The board praised the cooperative’s ongoing, owner‑funded improvements and said the grant would help preserve the building’s character next to newer four‑story construction on Jackson Street.
James Marco, the coop president, and Mark Butler, vice president, said the association’s members have invested in prior upgrades including impact doors and railings. Board members noted the aesthetic continuity and neighborhood value a refreshed building brings.
The motion to approve the $75,000 PIP grant passed unanimously.
