The commission’s formal action was limited to adopting the resolution; no related funding or policy change was proposed.
Russell’s remarks and the commissioners’ comments closed with expressions of thanks and a unanimous vote to adopt the tribute. Photographs were taken following the ceremony and the commission then returned to the agenda.
