- In-kind support for Easter egg hunt (April 16 at Coral Park): Council approved an in-kind request to support the event (security and related services), listed in the agenda as $144 of in-kind support. The motion passed; specific roll-call tallies were not recorded on the transcript.
- City vehicle policy update: Council approved updates to the city vehicle policy intended to clarify application to all public officers, employees and city-owned or controlled vehicles, including tractors, trailers and heavy equipment. The motion was made by Vice Mayor Willhork and seconded by Councilwoman Melendez; the motion passed.
- Fleet monitoring program (Sentara): Council discussion indicated implementation of a vehicle-tracking and fleet-management program to monitor mileage, idling and compliance; the update accompanies the vehicle policy and will be implemented administratively.
- Liquor licenses for special events: The council approved two special-event liquor license applications: one submitted by Herman Celaya for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz County and one submitted by Jose Aguirre for Public Safety Global Alliance (supporting an inter-mayors summit). Both applications were approved on council vote.
- Facility fire-suppression and alarm upgrades: The council authorized a budget transfer from the general fund reserve not to exceed $250,000 to purchase and install new fire and suppression (alarm) systems for City Hall and the Public Works building through Johnson Controls Fire Protection. The motion passed; staff said remaining municipal buildings will be upgraded in a phased program.
