Carefree council approves routine consent items, pulls auditor and website-accessibility purchases for separate votes

The Carefree Town Council approved routine financial and event items on its consent agenda and removed the proposed auditor contract and a website-accessibility purchase for separate votes.

Council members voted unanimously to approve agenda items 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 – including approval of the March 4, 2025 meeting minutes, the March 2025 check register, and combined trial balances dated Jan. 31 and Feb. 28, 2025, and a temporary street closure for the Carefree Earth Day celebration.

The items removed from the consent agenda for separate consideration were item 5, a proposed contract with CliftonLarsonAllen for professional auditing services for fiscal years 2025–2029, and item 7, a proposed annual $2,500 purchase of the ReciteMe accessibility checker for carefree.org and visitcarefree.com. Councilmember requests to poll those items were granted before the consent vote.

The motion to approve the remaining consent items was submitted and seconded and passed without opposition.

The council’s routine approval clears administrative housekeeping and schedules the two pulled items for fuller discussion later in the meeting.
