Council approves consent agenda items and a pre‑annexation development agreement

At its Feb. 2 meeting the Yuma City Council approved multiple consent-agenda items and adopted one resolution by recorded roll call. The votes were taken as follows.
Council member Morris moved to approve motion consent agenda items MC 2025‑043, MC 2025‑046 and MC 2025‑047; Council member Morales seconded. The motion carried on an affirmative voice/roll call with all councilmembers present voting “Aye.”
Later the council approved the remaining items on the motion consent agenda after a motion by Councilwoman Morales and a second by Councilmember Watts; that motion also carried with all present voting “Aye.”
On the resolution consent agenda, Deputy Mayor Smith moved to adopt the resolution consent agenda as recommended; Councilmember Watts seconded. The clerk read the title for Resolution R 2025‑026, a pre‑annexation development agreement for 2168 South Angler Avenue; the council voted by roll call with all members present voting “Aye,” and the resolution was adopted.
Other procedural actions included the statutory-compliance public hearing on a rezoning for a 30 Second Street parcel (ordinance O 2025‑011 was introduced) and the council’s vote to close that public hearing. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn to executive session, which carried on an affirmative vote.
Votes recorded in the minutes showed all members present for the roll calls: Council Member Martinez, Council Member Morris, Council Member McClendon, Deputy Mayor Smith, Council Member Morales, Council Member Watts and Mayor Nichols, each recorded as voting in favor where indicated.
