School board recognizes students, robotics team and coaches

At its March 5, 2025 meeting the Lafourche Parish School Board recognized students, teams and coaches from schools across the parish for academic and extracurricular achievements.
The board called up students who were selected to LHSAA composite and class all-academic teams in sports and tennis, and presented certificates to students selected for district and state competitions. ‘‘It is our privilege tonight to be able to recognize students who are doing amazing things, not just in the classroom, but outside of the classroom as well in athletics and extracurricular activities,’’ the awards presenter said.
The board also recognized a LaRose Cutoff Middle School robotics team that won grand champion at the Bayou Regional competition and was a finalist in the state for best robot design. Individual team members named in the meeting included Caden Adams, Natalia Bartholomew, Charlie Coleman and others. Coaches named in the transcript were Addie Duey, Ashley Chermey and Crew Cherme.
A Central Lafourche 4‑H team placed second in the state in the 4‑H parts judging career development event; students named included Adele Stein, Aubrey Leger, Reese Bourne and Anthony Plezos. Board members urged parents and community members to continue supporting students’ extracurricular participation.
No board action was required for the recognitions.
