Staff told council the master agreement was originally executed in May 2022 and included two one-year extension options; the action exercised the first one-year option to keep CNS Engineers on the active list of consultants available for task orders. Staff clarified that specific work is authorized through separate task orders under the master agreement and that the extension preserves the city's ability to assign future task orders to the firm.
Council Member David Diaz asked whether this extension was the same procurement discussed at a recent meeting; staff clarified that the earlier item was a task order under the existing master agreement and that the amendment on Tuesday was the renewal of the umbrella agreement itself. The council opened a public hearing and received no public comment.
Council Member Jim Dolan moved to authorize the city manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the master professional services agreement with CNS Engineers Inc. for an additional one-year term; Council Member Nancy Campbell seconded. The motion carried 6–0.
