Council awards $1.35 million contract for Summit Tank 18-inch waterline

The Prescott Valley Town Council unanimously awarded the Summit Tank 18-inch Waterline project, CIP CW2507, to Earth Resources Corporation for $1,346,462 on April 10.
Mr. Wadsworth (town staff) described the project as the second phase of work to increase water flow to the Summit Tank system on Glassford Hill Road; the work will support neighborhoods including Jasper and Castle Canyon Mesa and prepare the system for a future booster-station upsizing.
Wadsworth told council the town received nine bids for the project but the lowest bidder withdrew, leaving Earth Resources Corporation’s $1,346,462 bid as the low bid. He said the project will allow the town to better utilize the Summit Tank’s approximately 4,000,000 gallons of storage and improve system flow to the served region.
Councilmember Freund moved to award the contract to Earth Resources Corporation and enter into the construction contract for CIP CW2507. The motion passed unanimously.
Town staff said this project follows an expansion of the Summit Tank completed a few years earlier and that a third phase will address the booster station at the bottom of the hill. No additional funding sources or schedule details beyond the bid amount were provided in the meeting record.
