Commission discusses goals and outreach, plans Fairbanks 50+ summit presence

At its April 11 meeting the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission revisited previously approved goals for fiscal year 2026 and discussed outreach and participation in two May events: Senior Recognition Day and the Fairbanks 50+ Art and Science of Aging Summit.
Chair Denise Daniello reminded commissioners that the panel had identified three goals at an earlier meeting (Oct. 23, 2023): (1) improve the quality of transportation for older adults in the borough, (2) engage in educational campaigns to encourage volunteerism among seniors, and (3) enhance public awareness and participation in the borough’s Senior Recognition Day events.
