The Greenlee County Board of Supervisors voted to award a contract to Mueller for a 50-by-100 metal building to serve as a new Public Works facility, approving the bid at $77,450 plus taxes and accessories.
County staff presented the item as the competitive selection between two responsive bidders, Mueller and Bunker. "We got 2 responsive bids back, 1 from Mueller, 1 from Bunker," said Reed Larson, the staff presenter. Larson said the bids were close and recommended awarding the contract to Mueller. "We do recommend award to Mueller," he said.
Board discussion focused on scope and delivery. A supervisor clarified that the award covers the building shell and delivery; interior work and certain concrete or finish trade work would be done by contractors or a mix of county crews and hired contractors later. Larson explained that the county expects to "build the pad" itself and hire contractors for concrete and erection, with interior trim-out to be determined based on county workload.
A motion to approve the award was made and seconded. The board signaled approval by voice vote; the motion passed. The county will take delivery of the metal shell and proceed with contracting or in-house work for site preparation and interior finishes as described by staff.
The item was presented as a straightforward contract award; no alternate bids or amendments were recorded in the transcript.
