County manager announces brief medical leave; supervisors give local updates

County Manager Menlove told the Board of Supervisors on Feb. 4 that he will undergo a medical procedure and will be out from Feb. 6 through Feb. 17; Deputy County Manager O’Driscoll will exercise the county manager’s authorities during that period.
Supervisors provided routine updates. Supervisor Humphrey reported meetings with public-works staff, yard visits in Tannell Basin and Globe to observe road operations, and upcoming community meetings in Tannell Basin and Roosevelt. Supervisor Klein reported presenting at the State Capitol on behalf of a county program, noted reintroduction of a federal bill to support the Pleasant Valley Veteran Retreat Center (with recent committee action sending the bill to the House floor committee), and discussed upcoming events and awards involving local representatives.
County Manager Menlove also noted praise from APS for county-installed water tanks that assisted aerial firefighting operations in northern Gila County and wished the county a happy 144th birthday on Feb. 8.
The updates were for information; no formal board action was taken.
