The Board of Supervisors approved on Feb. 4 a Federal Fiscal Year 2024–25 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant agreement (EV25-20028) with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for $10,000.
Emergency Management staff said the ADEQ funding is awarded annually and is used to hire a consultant to facilitate the county’s annual local emergency planning committee conference and a tabletop exercise. Staff described the grant as a continuation of a recurring program that has been helpful in past years.
Supervisors voted to accept the grant; no conditions or additional funding allocations were discussed during the meeting.
