Lewisville ISD trustees approve personnel moves, settle two special-education matters and cancel high-school stadium lighting awards; all votes unanimous

The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees, meeting April 21, unanimously approved a series of personnel, legal and operational actions, including the appointment of a new chief of elementary schools and authorization for administration to finalize two special-education settlements discussed in closed session.

After convening in closed session under Texas Government Code provisions, the board returned to open session and moved through consent and action items. President Jenny Proznick called for votes on items discussed during executive session; all recorded board votes were 7'0yes, 0'no.

Appointments and settlements Stephanie Lawson was approved as chief of elementary schools after a motion by Miss Akhiteb; the chair announced the vote as unanimous. The board then authorized the superintendent to finalize resolutions and sign agreements for two pending special-education matters after motions by Catherine Sells (Special Education Matter No. 1) and Doctor Stacy Barker (Special Education Matter No. 2).
