District presents 2023 and 2024 bond project GMPs and construction timelines, including high‑school renovations and security upgrades

Lewisville ISD staff presented multiple guaranteed‑maximum‑price (GMP) packages for projects funded by the 2023 and 2024 bonds and said board approval of several GMPs and construction contracts is scheduled for March and April.

For the 2023 bond, staff described early packages and full GMPs for roofing, life-cycle maintenance and repair projects at Colony, Marcus and Hebron high schools, plus security vestibule work and door-and-hardware replacements at several campuses. Notable GMPs cited during the presentation included:

- Year‑1 roofing (Old Settlers 2001 wing, Lamar, Facility Services Center and Welcome Center) — GMP $8,558,869. Work scheduled with Old Settlers and Lamar planned for summer while students are out.

- Colony High School life-cycle maintenance/repair (early package covering cafeteria and flexible learning space) — GMP $6,091,632. Project staged across three summers (2025–27).

- Marcus High School early package (library and first-floor work) — GMP $10,911,481; phased over three summers with final GMP planned for May.

- Hebron High School full GMP (auditorium, auxiliary gym, annex and remaining classrooms) — GMP ~$27.19 million; target substantial completion August 2026.

Staff also outlined the district-wide security vestibule and door/hardware projects (early package GMP for elementary vestibules and high-school vestibule scope approx. $12.76 million, and a door/hardware package approx. $3.01 million) with work beginning this summer and continuing during the school year where night-and-weekend access minimizes classroom disruptions.

Staff showed renderings of renovated auditoriums, corridor flex seating, renovated libraries and described plans to remove some locker banks to create student seating areas. The district expects to present the listed GMPs as consent items at the March 17 or April board meetings depending on the package.

For the 2024 bond (athletics) staff presented a Hebron stadium GMP ($4,466,668) and announced competitive solicitations for LED stadium lighting upgrades and scoreboard replacements at four or five high schools; staff said those recommendations will be brought to the March 17 consent agenda pending evaluation of bids and alternates.

Staff also noted a planned Hedrick Middle School playground project to be funded from leftover bond playground and shade-structure funds; the board will be asked to select the playground architect on March 17.

Construction managers at risk and architects named on projects included Joris Construction, Reeder Construction, Pope Construction, Glenn Partners and Stantec. Staff said vendor selections follow statutory procurement processes and that a number of projects are early packages intended to order long-lead items (mechanical, roofing, fire-alarm components) in time for summer work.
