Public works staff said three companies bid on the work and staff interviewed each bidder on scheduling and self‑performance. AEW representatives on hand described the project scope and said the low bidder proposed to start in April and that the work would extend through the summer; staff noted the splash pad likely would not be operational until late summer or fall. "It includes the path, the pickleball courts, the splash pad, and the ninja course... there's also some benches and some garbage cans... after I saw the final rendering of the splash pad and the ninja course, I'm really excited about this project," the presenter said.
Two AEW staff introduced themselves during the meeting: Courtney Sturgis, landscape and urban designer, and Julia Beauvais, graduate engineer. The council approved the award by motion and voice vote; no dollar amount was stated in the meeting record provided.
