The Roseville City Council voted April 8 to authorize publication of notice, under section 14.4C of the city charter, that would place delinquent water bills on the summer tax rolls for collection.
The city’s water department requested the charter-based publication. "Per the charter, we need to publish in the newspaper all outstanding water bills currently. We have just over half a million dollars in water bills that are unpaid. These will get posted and put on the summer taxes this summer," Mr. Monroe told the council.
Council moved and approved the request by voice vote; the meeting record does not list an itemized vote tally. The action directs staff to publish the notice so unpaid water service balances can be added to property tax bills for collection under the charter process.
